Africypt Was Found in 2019
The company was founded in 2019 in South Africa by Ameer Cajee and his brother Rajees Cajee. They have grown very quickly. Over time, the managers of Africrypt, which has become one of the most popular crypto exchanges in the region, opened an office.
With this heist, they stole the largest amount of Bitcoin in the history of Cripto. This amount, which was approximately 2 billion dollars with a value of 25 June 2021, was recorded as one of the largest frauds in the history of the region.
Investors spoke with a Cape Town-based law firm. When the company could not find the location of the founders, a national mobilization was announced. The world’s major stock exchanges have also been warned of any exchange possibility.
The first signs of this robbery came in the past weeks. The company has informed some users that its Africryp platform has suffered an online attack. He also asked them not to file legal notice as it would slow the recovery process. Suspecting this, some investors immediately reported the incident to the national police.
It was stated that about a week before the attack, company employees were prevented from accessing the platform.
The founders of the company have not been heard from since the disappearance of 69 thousand Bitcoins with a value of approximately $ 3.6 billion as of April and a total of $ 2 billion in June.
